Samokontrola i jej rola w odżywianiu się
In recent years studies have shown increase in number of over-weighted 11, 13, and 15 years old students in Poland. Young children have less effective self-control than older kids. This paper present theories about self-control and explains why and when self-control processes fail and people cannot control theirs eating behaviors. Exertion of self-control, e.g. caused by control of negative emotions, deteriorates capacity to control future behaviors. This happens since effortful control replenishes self-control resources that are intra-individually stable. Trait self-control is an ability determining how fast and how ambitious goals people achieve during their lives. Some studies show that high selfcontrol has also side effects. For example, people suffering form anorexia nervosa or workaholics are controlling their behavior with great effort and very carefully but the consequences are negative (e.g. poor health).
